The definition of global warming: more precisely the increase in the global average temperature is a global fact resulting from a climate change by a rise in the global average temperatures of the earth, This ecological phenomenon appeared at the beginning of the twentieth century and was, therefore, the interest of several scientific studies and now has an environmental and economic impact in the world.

Experts say that the idea of the causes of global warming emerged through hypotheses based on the study of the greenhouse effect in 1824 and then in 1890, Savante Arrhenius discovers a phenomenon that disrupts the scientific field, it suggests a model which explains, in fact, that an atmosphere rich in carbon dioxide retains longer the heat of the planetary radiation and solar radiation is, therefore, causes an increase and rise in the temperature of the air, and this is how the history of global warming begins and develops over the years to the present.

So what are the drivers of global warming?

Scientists give a definition that says that the root cause and extreme driver of metrological change related to global warming is the result of greenhouse gas emissions of human origin, that is, the industrial and economic activity that human beings have to develop on the earth’s surface, Of the many greenhouse gases that we emit, carbon dioxide CO2 represents the majority of the emissions of gases that affect the atmosphere this accumulation of gases is the source of global warming.  

First, giving the simple definition of greenhouse gas: what is a gas called a greenhouse gas?

Greenhouse gas refers to a gas that temporarily retains heat in the atmosphere which allows the warming of the earth’s air and soil, however this natural presence of gas has been disturbed due to the enormous amount of gas emitted by human activity, Indeed, since the Industrial Revolution, we have mainly used resources and energies that destroy our climate balance. Indeed, the fundamental economic activity is based on the production of energy (coal, oil and natural gas)

 to make industries, means of transport and production chains work. The production of this energy is generally due to the combustion of wood, coal, oil and gas and several fossil fuels, which led to the release of huge amounts of carbon dioxide ( CO2) and greenhouse gases, as a result the concentration of gases increases in the atmosphere and the heat trapped by the gases is retained longer on the surface of the planet thus giving the phenomenon called ‘the reinforced greenhouse effect’ is thus that the global warming works.  

Speaking of other greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4) or nitrous oxide (N2O): the origin of the emission of these gases is purely natural however the agriculture and livestock sectors also remain a sector developed and affected by human activity, It should therefore be noted that each year the researchers observe the increase in mass gas emissions which is the concern of the scientific sector following several factors that will be mentioned below:

  1. Digestion of farm animals
  2. -Manure storage and management
  3. -Cultivation in rice fields
  4. -Decomposition of household waste
  5. -Natural gas distribution
  6. -Thawing of permafrost
  7. The use of nitrogen fertilizers;-The transformation of ecosystems
  8. -deforestation

All these factors, as well as the increase in the concentration of gases, remain primarily responsible for the disruption and global warming, but it also exerts various influences on the global climate as CH4 and N2O contribute to a large extent to the greenhouse effect, creating other extreme problems on the entire planetary system.

It should be noted that the seas and oceans absorb carbon dioxide CO2 but with a moderate amount the excess of the concentration of the gas in the obtained waters, by research and studies of experts show a current environment more acidic which has resulted in a destabilization that brutally affects the marine ecosystem causing the disappearance of several species giving rise to an event called (the extinction of marine species) and this is not all the global warming strengthens and accelerates the vaporization of gases in the atmosphere is thus added another considerable concentration to the content of atmospheric gases and further accelerates the global warming and also causes rains of more and more acidic.

3/Change in planetary meteorological phenomena(Climate):

As a result of all variations in global average temperature, increase in the amount of gas in the planet’s atmosphere and climatic variations, fauna and flora are the first target affected by this global warming,observed and studied by scientists, the most important consequences affecting the balance of the ecosystem are:

-Destabilization and disruption of plant maturation cycles, late leaf fall and early fruit, many species will not be able to adapt to new climatic conditions.   

– Increasing carbon dioxide levels and increasing its concentration weakens and limits the fertilization of trees and renders it inefficient.

-With the unreasonable change in weather conditions and intense global warming, tree growth tends to decrease and mortality rates to increase.

-The higher the temperature, the stronger the plants breathe and release more carbon into the atmosphere causing an increase in CO2 in the atmosphere which plays in two directions and forces more the gas content has greenhouse effect in the atmosphere and even more inflates the phenomenon of climate warming.

-Drought caused by global warming weakens trees and makes them vulnerable to external threats such as viruses.

-The drier the trees are also more vulnerable to fires, which themselves act in a different direction and increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Behaviors of many animal species are also disturbed:

-Climate change and global warming influence and affect animals and limit their access to water or food, by spreading disease or reducing habitats.

-Geographical areas of species distribution are modified, dividing animals between those that migrate to favourable-condition habitat and those that force adaptation, But they don’t all react the same to these temperature changes some species are better off and others lose.

-The rapidity of climate change both disrupts the adaptation of some slow and fragile animals and promotes the extinction of others.

 -This phenomenon (global warming) has resulted in an increase in tropical species carrying diseases, which is harmful to our environment.

-Research has shown a strong influence and change in the behaviour of birds and coral reefs, thus putting an end to diversification.

The consequences of global warming, characterized in particular by the variation in the intensity of extreme weather events, have adverse effects on the environment and human populations worldwide, according to a scientific study more than 25% of human populations migrate because of climate change and warming.

Scientists today speak of the more serious facts, the accelerating change of human life requires a lot of invention of Energy and risk, the human being therefore tends to comfort his material life by sacrificing his environment,this is how the ozone layer began to disappear. the definition of the ozone layer: it represents the upper part of the atmosphere which is composed mainly of ozone it absorbs most of the ultraviolet solar radiation dangerous to organisms. The destruction of a large part of this layer has had a major impact on the climate, and the radiation emitted on the earth’s surface is becoming increasingly strong and contributing to the acceleration of global warming.
